The construction at EVCC™ Pedas RSA has reached a new milestone as the casting of external columns surrounding the main circular structure is now in full swing. These columns are not just structural elements — they form the foundation for a key ESG innovation: a solar canopy system using bi-facial photovoltaic panels, set to encircle the entire building.
Bi-Facial Solar Canopy Along the RSA Ring Road
Surrounding the central terminal building at ground level is a dedicated vehicular circulation loop, designed for efficient car movement and drop-off access. This loop will be fully covered by a continuous canopy structure fitted with bi-facial solar panels — capturing sunlight from both direct and reflected angles to maximize energy output.
This cutting-edge canopy serves a dual purpose:
Shaded drive-through access for visitors navigating the site
Clean energy generation to support EV charging bays, lighting, and building operations
Strategically designed with elevated clearance, the canopy will blend functionality with aesthetics — maintaining sightlines to the RSA's iconic roof while enhancing thermal comfort and sustainability performance.
A Flagship ESG Roadside Development Along the PLUS Expressway
Set along one of Malaysia’s busiest expressway corridors, EVCC™ Pedas RSA is a showcase of next-generation roadside development, blending lifestyle, logistics, and low-carbon infrastructure.
Key features include:
EV Hub on PLUS Expressway: Multiple ultra-fast chargers (Tesla & Gentari)
Platinum Rated GreenRE certification: Powered by solar & rainwater harvesting
Three drive-thru satellite units: For QSR, convenience
Retail core with panoramic mezzanine: A future-ready space for dining, retail, and community interaction
As of July 2025, the team is advancing steadily toward structural completion. The bi-facial canopy installation — targeted for Q4 2025 — will mark another step forward in delivering Malaysia’s most sustainable, investor-grade rest stop.
